Fall / Winter 2000
Summarizing the last half of the year 2000 (see "Procrastination" under
"STORIES" for the first half) - somewhere in mid August I replaced the stock exhaust system
with 2.25" OD pipe and high-flow
catalytic converter. A performance muffler with nice chrome exhaust tip finishes the upgrade.
It's not too noisy.
Minor brake work was completed shortly thereafter, consisting
of just new pads and shoes. The brakes performed worse after the "upgrade" and the shop said
I needed a new master cylinder. I called around and had a hard time finding one less than
$200.00US. I guess the car is grounded for now.
Trying to find an ignition coil that fits the wires has been a pain.
Usually I first modify the the ignition side of the engine but in this case, I can barely
even find stock (yuk) replacements. I managed to get a cap and rotor, but they still have
the "pins" instead of slots so I'm stuck with the stock coil for an indefinite ammount of time.
